Cross Country 2008

It was a cold day but the rain held off long enough to hold our annual school cross country event.  The children had been preparing for weeks and there were some amazing runners in the field.  Congratulations go to the winners and to all those who completed the event.

Junior Swim Sports 2008

Another fabulous junior swimming sports held at Tawa Pool.  There were those who were able to show their swimming skills by doing length races and those who were able to 'give it a go' as well.  The fun races of ball on spoon and push the ball are always fun and the children were great.  Having lots of parents come to support the children helped make it a very speical day.  Lots of photos were taken and many were used to help write stories back in class.

Senior Swimming Sports

Splashing Galore!!!!!! It was a steamy morning spent at Cannons Creek pool where those keen on swimming displayed their talents.  Those not so keen showed their water confidence with ball races and flutter boards.  If only time had permitted for the pajama race... oh well theres next year.

Basketball League

Three teams from Papakowhai were in the basketball league this year.  The A team were runners up in the final of the A Grade.  They won all their round robin games but were beaten in the final by Rangikura by 47 to 44. They played well as a team with six of the eight players scoring.

Papakowhai Gold won the B Grade final beating Papakowhai Blue by 37 to 35.  In their round robin game the Papakowhai Blue team beat the Gold team by 33 to 32. Neither team was beaten by any other team in the competition.
