RATA SYNDICATE

Our junior school is located in Rata block. Rata Block is an open plan building that is specially designed for young children.  There are five separate teaching spaces for each class and a room for Reading Recovery.  The students work in their own teaching space and also have the opportunity to come together for whole block activities such as singing and art. The teachers work closely together and students are able to form friendships within the whole block.

Most children who have been at Papakowhai School in the past few years would have had Mrs Foster as their first teacher.  Mrs Foster is now one of the two new entrant teachers.

Mrs Jones has the other new entrant class. 

  

 

 

 

Mrs Catherine Church

Mrs Church is the senior teacher for the Junior block. She teaches both year 1 and year 2 children.

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs Rosie Powell

Mrs Powell's class is in the new addition to the Rata Block building which opened last year. Her class are a mix of children in years 1 and 2.

 

 

 

 

Mrs Debbie Crawford-Jones and Ms Hetty Boonen

Mrs Crawford-Jones and Ms Boonen are jointly teaching in the sunny classroom adjacent to the school hall. The children in this class are a mix of years 1 and 2.
