About Papakowhai School

 

 

Papakowhai Primary School is 3km north of Porirua City, Wellington in the suburb of Papakowhai. We are a full primary school, decile 9 with students from Year 1 to Year 8 (5-13 years). Our school is co-ed boys and girls and by the end of the year we anticipate we will have 330 students.

We have an open door policy and encourage good communication between our parents and teachers. Parents and the wider community take an active role in the childrens learning and the school activities.  Our school board of trustees, the principal, staff and parents work together to achieve common goals.

We have four teaching syndicates from new entrants to Year 8. Our teachers work together in syndicates to plan and provide whole school programes to meet the various learning needs of our students and prepare them for the future.

There are many school-wide events that make Papakowhai School a special place to be educated.
